SST PURE® adds Long Island licensee

MIAMI – Pete’s Golf Shop in Mineola, N.Y., is the latest quality custom clubmaker to join the SST PURE® Shaft Alignment network.
Founded by veteran clubfitters Pete Makowski and Woody Lashen, Pete’s Golf Shop has served the Long Island area for nearly 25 years.
“We have been in this business for a long time, and we have seen a lot of technology come and go,” Makowski said, “There’s no question about it: SST PURE helps golfers get better performance out of their golf clubs.”
The addition of Pete’s Golf is the latest in a recent wave of new licensees to the SST PURE network. Currently more than 40 custom clubmakers and manufacturers offer the process to the public.
“It is our goal to licensee the best clubmaker in each market, and we have certainly done that with Pete’s Golf on Long Island,” SST founder Dick Weiss said. “Pete and Woody are among the elite, and we are proud to have them offer our technology.”
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft's most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts - steel or graphite - from most major manufacturers. To date, more than 200 players on the PGA Tour have experienced the benefit of SST PURE Shaft Alignment.
Headquartered in Miami, Strategic Shaft Technologies, LC, was founded by Weiss, who was the creator of the SST PURE® process. The patented SST PURE process of club assembly - deemed in compliance with USGA standards - locates each shaft's irregularities and aligns the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should - straight down the target line. Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd.
