How to Read Your SST PURE Shaft Analysis Report

Every SST PURE Shaft Analysis Report has two sections. The top shows a structural analysis of your shaft, and the bottom shows how the shaft performs in the Logo Up position compared with the SST PURE position, plus how much it was rotated and how much more stable it is.

1. The structural analysis (top of the report)

The graph at the top shows the results of the Load Symmetry Index test, which analyzes the structure of your shaft. The result is a number from 1 to 100. If a shaft were perfectly round, perfectly straight and equally stiff all the way around, it would score 100 and the line on the graph would run straight across the top. No such shaft exists on the market.

2. The performance analysis (bottom of the report)

The graphs at the bottom show the movement of the shaft tip at impact:

Red graph (left): how the shaft performs in the Logo Up position, the typical way shafts are installed, with the logo facing up at address.
Green graph (right): how the same shaft performs in the SST PURE position.

3. The conclusion

The conclusion at the bottom of the page tells you how much the shaft was rotated from Logo Up and how much more stable it is now that it has been SST PURE aligned.

Report terms explained

Term	What it means
Load Symmetry Index	A 1–100 structural score. 100 would be a theoretically perfect shaft.
Logo Up	The reference position representing a typical installation, with the shaft graphics positioned for appearance.
SST PURE position	The shaft’s most stable orientation (Neutral-Axis™), where off-line bending and twisting are minimized.
Vertical deviation	Off-line bending and twisting as the shaft flexes. SST PURE’s goal is to minimize it in the assembled club.
Improvement percentage	A comparison of vertical deviation in the Logo Up position with vertical deviation in the SST PURE position.

Why does my shaft logo look rotated?

Because the stable orientation is found by measurement, not by graphics. The manufacturer’s Logo Up position is chosen during production and is rarely the same as the most stable orientation, so the logo often ends up in a different position after correct installation.

The report says the shaft rotated more than it looks like it did

Sometimes the starting test spot was not exactly at Logo Up, for example to save time. Either way, the shaft is rotated to its most stable point and PUREd.
