Who Should Get SST PURE? Golfers of Every Skill Level
SST PURE is not just for Tour players. The process addresses the golf shaft, not the golfer’s handicap, and SST PURE’s player testing has shown improved impact repeatability for players of all skill levels.

Is SST PURE only for professional golfers?
No. SST PURE is used on professional tours, but the process can be applied to golf shafts used by players of any skill level.
High-handicap golfers
SST PURE is not limited by handicap. It removes a measurable equipment variable, shaft orientation, so the club behaves more consistently. A golfer’s actual on-course benefit still depends on the individual club and swing.
Low-handicap golfers
Low-handicap players often care most about eliminating small equipment variables, which is one reason shaft alignment is widely used on professional tours. SST PURE analyzes the same variable regardless of handicap: the shaft’s most stable orientation.
Slower and faster swing speeds
SST PURE is designed to identify a shaft’s stable orientation, not to require a minimum swing speed. SST PURE has not published a universal swing-speed threshold or a guaranteed gain at any speed; how much difference you notice can vary with the shaft, club and your delivery.
Independent Testing: Plugged In Golf
In Plugged In Golf’s 2026 swing-speed test, 16 golfers in stiff, regular, senior and ladies flex hit PUREd and un-PUREd irons. The regular, senior and ladies flex groups gained roughly 7% more carry, while the stiff flex group gained less than 2%. Their conclusion: “You don’t need to be a high speed player or a low handicapper to feel the benefits.”

Is SST PURE worth it for amateur golfers?
That depends on your priorities and budget. SST PURE is most relevant if you want to reduce equipment variables and have your shafts installed in a measured stable orientation. The best things to weigh are the published testing, the cost, and your own performance goals.
