Owning SST PUREd Clubs: Regripping, Reshafting and Used Shafts
A PUREd shaft keeps its stable orientation for life. What matters is that it stays installed in that orientation, so regripping is fine, while moving, pulling or adjusting a shaft should be handled by a qualified club builder who knows the PURE position.

How can I tell if my shaft has been SST PUREd?
Look for an SST PURE marking or documentation, and check whether a report is available. A sticker alone may not tell you the correct installation orientation if the alignment line is missing, so a licensee can help verify the club. To find a report, you need to know the name of the owner who had the shaft PUREd. Retrieve an SST PURE report.
Buying a used PUREd shaft
If the shaft still has its orientation mark and installation information, a qualified builder may be able to reinstall it correctly. If a used PUREd shaft has no alignment line, it will need to be PUREd again and remarked before installation.
Can I regrip a PUREd club?
Yes. Regripping normally does not rotate the shaft in the clubhead, so it does not change the shaft’s installed PURE orientation. If you need a replacement PURE label, contact the licensee that PUREd your shafts.
Can I move a PUREd shaft into another clubhead?
Yes, but the shaft must be installed so its PURE orientation is correct in the new head. Adapter design and final settings matter for adjustable clubs, so have a qualified builder do it.
Do I need to PURE a shaft again after pulling it?
Not necessarily. The shaft’s stable orientation doesn’t disappear when it is removed, but the builder must know the correct orientation for reinstallation. If the mark or documentation is missing, re-analysis may be needed.
Can I shorten a PUREd shaft?
Cut shafts can be PUREd, and if an already PUREd club is shortened, the orientation mark remains useful. Any significant rebuild should be handled by a qualified builder who can preserve the PURE orientation and your final club specs.
What if a PUREd shaft is installed in the wrong orientation?
It will no longer be in the stable orientation identified by the SST PURE analysis. A qualified builder can reset it to the correct position. This is most common after adjustable-adapter changes or shaft transfers. See the adjustable driver guide.
